Independent Musicians Reign Supreme At The 56th Annual Grammy's
The hands-down biggest event in the music industry took place last night at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The ceremony overall was, for all that witnessed, a spectacular display of artistic creativity on many levels. I mean the performances were some of the best of this young year, 2014. Jay-Z and Beyonce' kicked it off in grand fashion with their open uncut performance. That like always clearly lived up to the hype. And from there it just kept getting better. I took a seat front and center once I made the choice to switch from the Pro-Bowl on...I decided this Sunday Eve I wanted to be entertained. Didn't feel like watching a bunch of Millionaire athletes
pretend to play a game with significant meaning (did you see last year's game).
This years Grammy's did an amazing job of seamlessly integrating the classic artist of the past with the new and upcoming artist of today's music. I watched very impressed as each class of musicians showed utter respect for one another as musicians, as artist and most important as people. early on I had a feeeling this year's award's show was going to be special. I also wanted see the impact "Independent Musicians" would have have on the show. I wasn't at all disappointed! Artist winning Grammy's,
Independent Artist winning Grammy's and all I could say was "
I knew it!" It was indeed the independent musicians day in the sun as artist took home awards for music that had been 100%
Paul McCartney sang with the same beautiful ageless voice that will never leave him. The homage paid to the Beatles overall was amazing. It seemed to spread throughout the Staples Center as the announcers paid homage that spread into the audience that ultimately got a hold of several of the artist, both young and hold. It was one of the classiest acts I've ever seen in show business.
As far as performances go Kayte Perry gave us our monies worth. The song she sang was a nice unique song I personally felt a deep meaning for. I like how she put herself deep into her music, to the point were it transcended several barriers, barriers such as Genre a so forth. This was music music everyone could relate to in all phases of life. This was what made the world go 'round, the melodic beat of music is and has been for centuries the melodic movement that keeps mankind in rhythm with life, with love, with himself. Beyonce' managed to do the same if not more with her performance of of "Drunk In Love". And Pink well...it was a performance to remember. Overall I can say that no performance was a let down. They were all in my opinion fabulous expression of artist truly sharing with us what makes them so special, so unique.
if nothing more this years Grammy's showed Independent Artist clearly that the dream is worth living. To win A Grammy
without being signed to a major label is a clear sign of the bright and unlimited future of Independent Artist and the absolute control they now have over their music.
